This illustration is part of a series based on Pablo Picasso's famous painting Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. Each image of the series focuses on inspirations from other art and culture recreated in Les Demoiselles d'Avignon. This image focuses on the African cultural influence of various patterns I've seen on African headwraps. The names for the headwraps I was inspired by are ankara, dashiki, kitenge, and kente, which have beautiful patterns.
