Green & Pink Lotus Pichwai Diwali - (Framed)

This illustration is based on Rajput art, which originated and developed under Rajput kings (meaning Royal Kings) with a mix of Pichwai folk art influences. These classical and folk art styles were based on Hindu literature and mythology. The most notable symbol in Pichwai paintings is the Lotus flower. The lotus has various meanings of purity, beauty, and enlightenment. In Pichwai paintings, the lotus is shown in different stages of blooming to depict the soul's journey from darkness to light. 

I added a modern twist with the brighter colors used in the print. I was inspired by the bright and vibrant colors of the Indian contemporary fashion designer Masaba Gupta's clothes for the colors in the image. I love marrying classical and modern elements for inspiration in much of my artwork!
